What is bear camp road?

Bear Camp Road is a 52-mile long backcountry road that connects the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest in Oregon to the Siskiyou National Forest in California. It is known for its stunning scenery, with views of the Rogue River, the coastal mountains, and the Pacific Ocean.

The road is mostly unpaved and can be rough and narrow in some places, making it only suitable for high-clearance vehicles. It is not recommended for RVs or large vehicles. The road can be challenging to drive, especially during inclement weather, so it is important for drivers to use caution and be prepared for changing road conditions.

Bear Camp Road is popular among outdoor enthusiasts for its access to hiking, camping, fishing, and other recreational activities in the surrounding wilderness areas. The road is also the starting point for the Pacific Crest Trail and offers access to the famous Wild Rogue Wilderness.

Due to its remote location and rugged terrain, it is recommended to check road conditions and be prepared with a full tank of gas, plenty of water, food, and other supplies before embarking on a journey on Bear Camp Road.
